HabariPay , a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), has announced the winners of the Squad Hackathon 2.0, a premier innovation tech challenge designed to foster technological advancements in the fintech sector.
Themed: ‘Finclusion Revolution’, this year’s hackathon and second in the series, which held recently at the GTCO Training Complex, Tayo’s Plaza, Abeokuta, Ogun State, had participants focus on providing solutions, that will help drive financial inclusion through innovative technological solutions.
After an intensive three-day competition, Team Savvy emerged as grand prize winners, securing N5 million for their groundbreaking solution, Splitwise—a platform designed to simplify expense management by allowing users to split costs, track shared bills, and efficiently manage group finances.
Team Farmceries won the first runner-up position, earning N3 million for their innovative platform that facilitates the direct delivery of fresh farm produce to customers, effectively streamlining market errands and enhancing convenience.
In third place, Team TBD received N2 million for their solution, Housify, a user-friendly platform that simplifies the home rental process by connecting tenants and landlords, streamlining property searches, applications, and payment processes.
Organised by HabariPay, Squad Hackathon 2.0 brought together top-tier tech talents, including developers, designers, and problem-solvers, to collaborate on solutions leveraging Squad’s cutting-edge APIs. Participants engaged in mentorship sessions, networking opportunities, and rigorous coding challenges, culminating in the development of scalable fintech innovations.
