I’m laying solid foundation for good governance in Rivers, say Ibas

Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), believes his administration is currently laying a long-lasting foundation for results-oriented public service and sustained capacity building that will enhance good governance in the future.

Speaking on Monday in Port Harcourt, while unveiling the 4-Day Transformational Leadership Training Workshop for Sustainable Development, organised by the Rivers State Government, Ibas stated that the workshop is aimed at repositioning Rivers State’s public service to a global standard that can be enjoyed by citizens of the state.

“This administration is committed to building strong institutions, promoting efficiency, and fostering a results-driven public service.
“We are laying the foundation for a culture of good governance—one that will serve not just the present generation but also those to come, ” Ibas said.

The administrator stressed that his administration is hell-bent on building strong institutions, promoting efficiency, and fostering a results-driven public service. He added that the state is laying the foundation for a culture of good governance, not only for the present but for future generations.

According to him, only regular and relevant training can break the cycle of stagnation in governance and prepare public servants to adapt, grow, and transform service delivery.

The training, which was organised in collaboration with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, brought together Permanent Secretaries, Local Government Administrators, and Directors from various ministries across the state.
