At just 25 years old, Josemaria Osuorah is already making a name for himself in the tech world. This September, he’s taking his commitment to the next level by launching the Secure Mentorship Network, a program aimed at mentoring young people with an interest in solutions engineering, cybersecurity, and IT innovation.
With a degree in Computer Engineering from Madonna University, Nigeria, Josemaria has always believed in the power of mentorship. He’s convinced that helping others find their footing early on is one of the best ways to build a stronger, more capable tech community in Nigeria.
“Mentorship made a big difference in my own journey,” he said. “I’ve had people guide me through tough decisions and point me toward opportunities I wouldn’t have seen on my own. That’s what I want to give back through this program.”
The Secure Mentorship Network is designed to connect young tech enthusiasts with experienced professionals who can offer practical advice, share real-world insights, and help them build both their skills and their confidence. The program focuses first on solutions engineering, an area where Josemaria has built up strong experience in both industry and research, but plans are already in place to expand into cybersecurity by the end of the year or early next.
The goal is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world problem-solving. Josemaria hopes the program will help tackle the growing skills gap in both solutions engineering and cybersecurity, by preparing mentees with hands-on knowledge, professional guidance, and exposure to the tools and mindsets needed to succeed.
“The mission is simple,” he said. “We want to help young Nigerians gain the skills to not only succeed in today’s tech world, but to stand out in the global market.”
Looking ahead, Josemaria sees the mentorship program growing into a full-fledged community, one that champions innovation, supports lifelong learning, and helps more people break into and thrive in the tech industry. He’s also calling on professionals in Nigeria and abroad to join him in mentoring and building this network together.
The program launches this September with a series of online workshops and mentoring sessions open to people from all backgrounds and experience levels.
“We’re creating a space for growth,” Josemaria said. “With the right support and a strong network, we can shape the future of tech, one mentee at a time.”
More information about how to join or get involved with the Secure Mentorship Network will be shared soon.
