Lagos scraps Ibile Holdings, outstanding bills

LAGOS State Government yesterday sought the suspension of at least 15 bills inherited from the Babatunde Fashola-led administration, some of which are still pending before the State House of Assembly.

LAGOS State Government yesterday sought the suspension of at least 15 bills inherited from the Babatunde Fashola-led administration, some of which are still pending before the State House of Assembly.

The state government, in a letter written by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to the House, expressed the administration’s decision to discontinue with the bills.

Among the bills tabled for suspension (some of which had already been passed by the House and assented into law) are: the Lagos State Public Private Partnership Amendment bill 2013; Lagos State Sunset Agency bill 2013; Lagos State Police Regulatory Authority bill 2014 and the Lagos State Public Works Corporation 2014.

The list also include: the Lagos State Examination Board bill 2014; Seal of Lagos State Government Amendment bill 2014; Lagos State Public Procurement Agency repeal and re-enactment bill 2014; Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection bill 2014 and the Lagos State Tourism Promotion Agency bill 2014.
