Lagos traditional body instals Rhodes-Vivour as ‘Obalefun’

The 2023 Lagos State governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has been installed into the special “Omoluabi” royal elite circle of Ijo Olorisa Parapo in the Badagry Division of the state.

By this, Rhodes-Vivour was crowned with the chieftaincy title of “Obalefun” of the body at a coronation ceremony attended by Baales on authority of the Akran of Badagry and a Permanent Vice Chairman of Lagos State Council of Chiefs.

The Baales, who attended the event with one of the IBILE’s stamps of authority to underscore the importance of the new Lagos chief as a blood of the soil, included Chief Babatunde Wusu, who is the Onitiju Baale of Yovokome Boekoh, Badagry.

IBILE is an acronym for the five divisions that make up Lagos State socio-culturally and politically. They are Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe (IBILE).

Rhodes-Vivour comes from the Popo Aguda area of one the divisions called the Lagos Island, and his family background is well known, accordingly.

At the event, held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Badagry, Rhodes-Vivour, popularly called GRV, was also inducted as the Peace Ambassador of the Ijo Olorisa Parapo by virtue of his role in the advancement of social welfare, peace, and development of the people and the state environment.

He was on the ground for the installation, accompanied by his family, particularly his parents and wife.
