The President and Founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has extended warm congratulations to former First Lady, Hajia Maryam Abacha, on her 78th birthday.

In a statement on Thursday, Prof. Gwarzo praised the former First Lady and ex-President of the Nigeria Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) for her dedication to national unity and social development.

He commended her for spearheading impactful initiatives such as the African First Ladies Peace Mission, the National Programme on Immunization, and the Family Support Program, which have positively influenced countless lives.

Acknowledging her leadership, Prof. Gwarzo highlighted her role in supporting military families, advancing girl-child education, and uplifting rural women and children during her tenure as NAOWA President.

“On behalf of the MAAUN Group of Universities, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our mother, the former First Lady, Hajia Maryam Abacha, on this special occasion,” he said.

He wished her continued good health, happiness, and a long life, praying for divine blessings on her and her family.
