Abducted provost of Katsina-Ala COE regains freedom

The Benue State Police Command yesterday said the Provost of College of Education (COE), Katsina-Ala, Tsavwua Gborigyo, who was abducted by gunmen penultimate Friday has regained his freedom.

The Benue State Police Command yesterday said the Provost of College of Education (COE), Katsina-Ala, Tsavwua Gborigyo, who was abducted by gunmen penultimate Friday has regained his freedom.Gborigyo was kidnapped at Ihugh in Vandiekya Council Area on his way from a burial ceremony on that day.

The state’s Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), Ms. Catherine Anene, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), disclosed that the provost reunited with his family on Thursday evening.

Anene told journalists in Makurdi that Gborigyo was released without payment of any ransom, saying investigations were ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorising the state.She further urged individuals with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to make it available to the police, promising that the police would treat such information with confidentiality.
