A FOUNDING member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano Engineer Abdulkadir Yusuf Gude expressed dissatisfaction over the new development blaming INEC for failing to stand to its responsibility. Hence Prof. Jega should resign according to him. According to him the postponement was a clear indication that the electoral body was not ready from day one to conduct the general elections. “They should have sensed this current trend since during their planning process before coming out with dates for election,” he challenged. “It is indeed a great mistake to postpone the election. As a result of this postponement the image of the country has already been bastardized at the international community.

It is very unfortunate that such inactions are happening in this great nation,” Gude charged.  He further argued that the security agencies could overcome the issue of insurgency within the stipulated extension time.  “Looking at the new approach in the fight against insurgency you will know that the problem will soon be over.

There are four countries now that are in the multinational forces who vowed to do away with the problem once and for all,” Gude hoped. Gude called on the leaders of all the political parties to try as much as they can to calm the nerves of their supporters concerning the issue of postponement. “They should please encourage their supporters to make sure that they collect their PVCs and wait for the new dates for the elections,” he advises.

While enlisting some of the implications for the postponement Gude explained that “…the action could spell doom to some of the contestants. Because after spending their time, efforts, and resources the sudden announcement just appeared.”

Complaining that like in Kano state after they canvassed all the necessary support for their gubernatorial candidate Malam Salihu Sagir Takai just came the new development. “But we are still hopeful and assured that PDP will sweep over Kano when the time for election comes,” he encouraged.
