Jibril Adamu Oshonebo crowned as sixth king of Idatto Uzairue community

It was a joyful occasion for residents of the Idatto Uzairue community in Auchi, Edo State, recently, as Mallam Jibril Adamu Oshonebo was crowned the sixth king of the community. Residents, families, friends, well-wishers, and dignitaries from all walks of life were in attendance to grace the colourful event. Oshonebo succeeded his late brother, King Mamudu Imonoste Jibril the fifth.

It would be recalled that in July 2022, the people of Idatto Uzairue community observed a 40th day of Fidau prayers for their late king, Mallam Mamudu Imonoste Jibril, who passed on in early June 2022. However, King Jibril Adamu Oshonebo, is said to be the oldest person in the community and is deeply loved and respected by everyone. One significant thing that was seen in the community was the show of love and acceptance of the new king by the residents.

The occasion was attended by dignitaries including the wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs. Beatrice Obaseki, the Edo State Commissioner of Police wife of of Lagos State Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Adejoke Sanwo-Olu, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed, former Edo State Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole and others.

Oshiomhole, in his closing remark, said history would be fair to the good people of Idatto Uzairue community for standing by their new king during the turbulent period when his kingship was in doubt. He prayed that God should grant the new king good health, long life, and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the community.
