The Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board said no fewer than 1,000 intending pilgrims in the state have made full payment of the N8.4m each for the 2025 Hajj.
The spokesman of the board, Mr Habits Yusuf, made this known in a statement in Dutse on Thursday.
Yusuf said the over 1,000 seats paid for were out of the 1,809 allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He quoted the Director-General (DG) of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Labbo, urging the zonal officers of the board to discharge their duties with the fear of God so as to enable the board conduct a successful operation.
The DG assured that the board was committed to ensuring a seamless exercise by improving on its previous operations.
According to him, the board has already commenced an orientation programme for the intending pilgrims across the 27 local government areas of the state.
“The training focuses on obligations, tenets, and cardinal principles of the Hajj, thereby allowing the intended pilgrims to know proper and acceptable Hajj rites.
“The intending pilgrims are therefore advised to endeavor and attend the training given its importance.”
The DG also lauded Gov. Umar Namadi, for his continued support to the board, which made the ongoing orientation of the intending pilgrims and other operations of the board a success.
