A father of nine, identified as Mr. Charles, has tragically taken his own life by ingesting a lethal insecticide, Sniper.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 7, in the Jeddo community of Okpe Local Government Area. Charles consumed the poison at his home before going to his in-laws’ residence, where he passed away shortly after.

Charles, a member of the Jeddo Community Vigilance group, took the deadly substance at his home and later went to his in-laws’ house in Ugbokodo, where he passed away shortly after.

Reports suggest his action might have been triggered by personal struggles, notably the sudden departure of his wife after a heated argument.

Despite multiple attempts by Charles and mutual friends to mediate and bring his wife back home, she reportedly refused to return, which may have contributed to his state of distress.

At the time of this report, the Delta State Police Command has not yet been formally notified of the incident, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe.

Further details regarding the circumstances remain unclear.
