Men of the Kano State Fire Service have retrieved the remains of a 33-year-old man, Muhammed Sagir, from inside a dry well at Kawon Arewa, in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, in Kano on Thursday.
He said the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the statement, “we received a distress call from Sabi’u Muhammed at about 12:42 pm that a body was found inside a dry well at Kawon Alhaji Sani Layin Mai Unguwa.
“On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene.”
He said the victim was brought out of the well dead, and his corpse was handed over to the ward head of Kawon Arewa, Alhaji Hamisu.
Abdullahi said the cause of the incident is under investigation.
