Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Thursday commissioned the newly-reconstructed Awokoya Road and Igbeba–Talbort–Yidi Lane in Ijebu Ode Local Government.
Abiodun, revealing this in a statement on his official X account said this is yet another demonstration of his administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable infrastructure development across Ogun State.
“We undertook this project with a clear understanding of its strategic importance to the daily lives of residents, businesses, and commuters in Ijebu Ode,” he said.
“The previously degraded and flood-prone stretch has now been transformed into a modern, motorable road complete with proper drainage, signage, and pedestrian safety features.”
The governor said the reconstruction of these roads not only improves accessibility but also enhances safety, eases traffic flow, and contributes to the economic vibrancy of the area.
According to Abiodun, this milestone is part of his administration’s broader urban renewal efforts under the Infrastructure, Social Well-being, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Agriculture (ISEYA) development agenda, driven by a promise to make life better for the people of Ogun State.
The governor thanked the good people of Ijebu Ode for their patience and support during the execution phase of this project.
“As we commission these roads today, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that no part of Ogun State is left behind in our pursuit of inclusive and transformational development,” Abiodun said.
