Kaduna marks two years of Gov Sani with prayers, project launches

As Kaduna State marks two years under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, the state government has outlined a series of activities to commemorate the anniversary, highlighting what it describes as the administration’s achievements across key sectors.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa, said the anniversary programme began on Friday with special prayers at the Kano Road Mosque in Kaduna, where Muslim faithful prayed for peace in the state and sought divine support for the Governor.

A Christian service was held on Sunday at the United English Baptist Church, Borno Road, Kaduna, where congregants prayed for continued peace and development.

Malam Musa stated that the Governor’s second anniversary would feature the commissioning of township roads and the Kachia General Hospital, which has been remodelled, upgraded, and equipped. A health walk is also scheduled as part of the commemoration.

According to the statement, the Governor has constructed roads that connect farms to markets in his rural transformation drive. In addition, he is completing projects inherited from previous governments.

On education, the government said it had expanded infrastructure and access through the construction of 62 new secondary schools, over 600 classrooms, and the renovation of several others. The administration has also built three Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition Cities in Soba, Rigachikun, and Samaru Kataf, serving Soba, Igabi, and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas, respectively.

In the health sector, the Governor’s spokesman said efforts had been made to strengthen healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

“He has upgraded Primary Healthcare Centres to level 2 status, equipped them with personnel and medical consumables. Also, he is remodelling 13 General Hospitals across Kaduna State, in an effort to make healthcare more accessible to the citizens,” the statement read.

Commenting on the broader governance approach, Musa said, “Above all, Governor Uba Sani has become the epitome of peace and inclusivity, by bridging the ethno-religious divides in Kaduna State with his visionary leadership.”

He urged residents to participate in the anniversary events to celebrate what he described as “Governor Uba Sani’s people-centred administration.”
