Kogi lawmaker Enema Paul dies in Abuja
Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and representative of the Dekina II constituency, Enema Paul, has passed away.
Paul reportedly died on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.
Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Speaker of the Kogi State House Assembly, offered his condolences to the late lawmaker’s family, describing him as “a temperate, humble, team-playing, committed lawmaker and public servant.”
Yusuf, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mohammed Yabagi, described Paul’s death as a huge loss to his people, colleagues and the state in general.
“The former Deputy Speaker was one man that exemplified commitment to the unity of the state, having demonstrated genuine desire to enhance pro – people legislature for overall development.
“Late Enema Paul was also a devout Christian who saw beyond religion and whose godliness and commitment to family values was unquestionable.”
The late lawmaker, who was married and had three children, is from Egume in Kogi’s Dekina local government.
He was appointed as a commissioner during the first term of former Governor Yahaya Bello.He served as a second-term legislator in the state House of Assembly before his death.
