OVER 200 members of the Langbansa community in Ajah have benefited from the humanitarian gestures of the Lekki Pennisula Lions Club, an organization renowned for empowering the less privileged in the community through its several activities of selfless service.
The ‘Feed the Hungry project’, which was held recently at Osho Street, Langbasa, Ajah, attracted a sizeable number from the community. Items given out include mini bags of rice, groundnut oil, Golden Penny noodles and pasta among others.
President of the club, Lion Winfred Kakada, said Lekki Pennisula Lions Club is three years old and has since its existence carried out some projects and charity works in the neighbourhood.
“It has not been easy but we have been able to manage the situation to the best of our ability. The major challenge is attracting people of like minds to support the club by extending their hand of fellowship and putting a smile on the faces of the less privileged.
A beneficiary, Mrs. Toyin Mustapha, said she and her neighbours have benefited severally from the club’s humanitarian gesture.
