Police recover ammunition, operational vehicle in Plateau

    
The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a person with 500 rounds of 7.5mm ammunition.
    
Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, appealed to residents of the state to cooperate with the command to raid criminal elements from the state and bring it back to its hitherto posture of “Peace and Tourism.”
    
Adesina made the charge during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters on significant developments related to the command’s outstanding achievement in relentless efforts to maintain law and order, reduce crime, and improve peace on the Plateau.
    
The police commissioner said the Force has successfully recovered a substantial cache of ammunition that would have been used by criminal elements to unjustifiably take the lives of innocent citizens of the state and destroy property.
    
He revealed that on 4th May,2025, at about 9:40 pm the police received credible intelligence about a criminal hideout along Bauchi Road in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.

During the raided, an abandoned Ash Colour Golf Wagon with registration number JJN 812 AH was recovered with the 500 rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition.
    
He also disclosed that the police is investigating a case of culpable homicide to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of the victim.
    
Adesina assured the general public that the police have been making efforts to arrest the perpetrators and recover their operational weapons.
