Borno declares public holiday for Buhari’s rally
GOVERNOR Kashim Shettima of Borno State has declared Monday a work-free day to enable the people of the state welcome Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), during his presidential campaign rally at Ramat Square, Maiduguri.
In a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda and made available to journalists Sunday in Maiduguri, the governor said: “The declaration of this work-free day was to enable the people of the state welcome the APC presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in Maiduguri on a presidential campaign visit on Monday at Ramat Square.
“Governor Kashim Shettima has enjoined all Borno residents to come out en-masse and line up the streets of the metropolis to welcome the peoples’ general.”
