FORMER Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, and ex-Secretary to State Government, Obarisi Omo-Agege, have been expelled by the state’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for anti-party activities.

Also axed was a former member of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Doris Uboh, who is now the Accord Party (AP) candidate for Ika federal constituency, and AP candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Mr. Ngozi Okolie, who lost out in the PDP primary.

Meanwhile, four persons have been arrested by the police in the state for allegedly making away with 6,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and registers at INEC office in Oghara, Ethiope West local council.

The Delta Police Spokeswoman, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, explained in Asaba yesterday that the police received a report on February 10 that some unknown gunmen broke into the commission’s office at Oghara and reportedly made away with the cards.

Kalu said the stolen PVCs have been recovered but actually totaled 7,365 instead. And based on the report, she added, the police arrested the security guards suspected of aiding the deed, for interrogation. The follow-up investigation, she said, led to the arrest of one Oghara native and the recovery of one of the stolen INEC registers.
