MOVES to scrap the new councils created by the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi began yesterday as the Ekiti State Executive Council approved a memo seeking to repeal the law that created the councils.

  The Council had at its yesterday meeting approved a memo from the Ministry of Justice seeking its approval to send as executive bill to the State House of Assembly to repeal the laws.

   The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Dipo Anisulowo who spoke to newsmen after the meeting said “the state government found it expedient to repeal the Local Government Area Laws Numbers 8 and 10 of 2014 to reduce the cost of governance.
