THE studio of Daar Communications Plc, owner of the African Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power FM located at Alagbado area of Lagos, was Monday morning gutted by fire.

It was learnt that the inferno which was reported immediately after the company’s early morning news magazine programme, Kaakaki, at its Lagos Alagbado office was caused by high voltage electricity in the studio.

But the fire was reportedly put out at about 9: 30 am by combined efforts of the Lagos State Fire Servicemen from Agege, Ikeja and Alausa divisions.

The incident affected morning programming from the Lagos office of the station as Ray Power could not air its 10am world news.

The Lagos State  Director of Fire Service, Fasak Fadipe, who confirmed the incident,  said his men arrived at the scene 15 minutes after a call was received from the media house, adding that it took 15 minutes to put off the fire.

He said the fire was caused by the impact of a high voltage electric power on the airconditioner being used in the Studio
