Group warns politicians against use of kids for electoral malpractice

OGUN State Chapter of Child Protection Network (CPN), a Non-Governmental Organisation has warned politicians to desist from attempt of using children for electoral violence,before,during and after election.

     The Network Coordinator,Peju Osoba made this call in Abeokuta yesterday while swearing in the newly elected officers of the body who are run to its affairs.

    “Our politicians must be mindful of the children,they should not be seen or used as a tool for electoral malpractices, and they should also not end up being victims of electoral malpractices”,Osoba emphasised.

    The Coordinator also called on parents and guardians to be watchful of their children, as the general elections are fast approaching, stressing “keeping the children indoors would be safer and appropriate during the elections period”.

    He also tasked the executive and members of the network to see themselves as one family and work together for the welfare and betterment of children.

     She added that, there must no be any form of in discrimination against any child in the State, irrespective of religion and tribe.

     “We are one family,our primary purpose is for the welfare of children, irrespective of their religion or State of origin. There must not be discrimination.

    “We must be focused. In the next two years CPN must be a rallying point for all. The work plan for the year must start in earnest”, Osoba said.
