YET-TO-BE identified gunmen on Saturday evening abducted the Director of Local Government (DLG) for Adavi Council, Alhaji Abdullazeez Ohere, from his home at Agassa in Okene local government area.

The Guardian checks revealed that the kidnappers numbering about 10 scaled the fortified fence of the captive at 11pm.

According to a source, the kidnappers robbed occupants of cell phones and told the DLG that they were hired to assassinate him before parting with money and jewelries to save his life and those of his household.

The abductors however, eventually, took him away to an unknown destination.

Contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO), Aguebo Elvis, said he was yet to be briefed about the incident.

It will be recalled that the former chairman of the council, Salihu Adaviriku, suffered similar fate early last year when his pregnant wife and six-year-old daughter were abducted but recovered after more than two months in captivity .
