SIX years after the deadly Boko Haram sect  killed thousands of Mubi residents and its environs, President Goodluck Jonathan, Thursday made a surprise visit to the ghost town of Mubi with soldiers mounting road blocks in the neighbouring villages.

Jonathan who arrived Yola International Airport at about 10am boarded a chopper to Mubi accompanied by over ten fighter jets.

The Guardian gathered that the residents were not happy with the secret visit of the President.

The President who was in company of Adamawa State Governor, Barrister Bala James Ngillarri, also hold secret meeting with the royal father of  Mubi and other top PDP chieftains in the state while in Mubi.

Jonathan’s secret visit is coming barely two days after his Minister for Youth development Mr. Boni Haruna, visited Mubi his place of birth and few other towns within the area that were captured by the insurgents.
