THE Kwara State government yesterday urged the state Police Command to promptly prosecute persons identified as political thugs in the state.

Specifically, the government through Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, advised the police on the need to examine the activities of the thugs with a view to calling them to order.

The statement reads, “we view with great concerns the recent waves of violence being unleashed by suspected thugs of the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on innocent people of Kwara.

“It is our believe that the police authourities in the state are taking good care of these show of shame across the land of peace with the aim of bringing to book the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.

“Nobody however should interpret our stance on this issue as a weakness. We will not refrain from using all within our constitutional powers to decisively bring to book all the perpetrators of these evils and all their sponsors.”
