The NIS Comptroller in the state, Mr Abdullahi Garba, made the pledge on Friday in Uyo while issuing the 64-page e-passport to the wife of Akwa Ibom Governor, Mrs Unoma Akpabio.

Garba said the command was poised to issue passports to qualified Nigerians and also control influx of irregular immigrants in the state.

“The officers and men of the command will live up to their statutory responsibilities in quick service delivery and providing checks in our borders,” he said.

He thanked the wife of the governor for patronising the services of the NIS in the state.

The comptroller also thanked the state government for its numerous support to the command.

Responding, Mrs Akpabio thanked the command for the warm reception accorded her.

Akpabio said that she was delighted at the speed with which her new e-passport was issued to her.

She also commended the command for issuing the passport to her without hitches.

She urged the agency to continue to render excellent services to qualified Nigerians at all times as stipulated by the law. (NAN)
