THE striking Ogun State teachers yesterday called off their two- week-old strike following the outcome of a meeting held between the teachers union’s leadership and government delegation.
The call-off was announced jointly by Dare Ilekoya (Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers) and Akeem Lasisi (Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools of Nigeria) after a congress of the two bodies held at the NUT Hall, Abeokuta.
Ilekoya, who spoke on behalf of the teachers, stated: “We are here today to tell the public that government has decided to call us for discussions, we met and all our issues were looked into.”
