President Goodluck Jonathan Thursday paid a “surprised and an impromptu” visit to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital amid tight security;

extending from the airport to Maimalari barracks and visited hospitalized soldiers at the military clinic.

Jonathan, who was accompanied by the service chiefs, touched the Maiduguri International Airport in two other military air crafts at about 3.05pm.

He was received by Governor Kashim Shettima along with few other top government officials, before proceeding to the barrack to address

troops of 7 Division of Nigerian Army.

The reception at the airport was however, low-keyed.
