Sambo leads delegation to The Gambia’s golden jubilee

A FEDERAL Government delegation led by Vice President Namadi Sambo left Abuja for Banjul, The Gambian, Wednesday to attend the country’s 50th Independence anniversary celebration. 

   Other members included the Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, and the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwumi Adeshina. 

   In a statement, Sambo’s media office in Abuja said the delegation, which arrived at the Banjul International Airport, was received by Nigeria’s High Commissioner to The Gambia, Ambassador Esther John Audu, and The Gambia Minister of Youth and Sports, Aliyu Jammeh.  

Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, was also among the dignitaries at the occasion. Other top dignitaries included the Presidents of Ghana, Mr. Jonh Dramani Mahama, Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, and the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Mr. Jose Mario Vaz, as well as the Prime Minister of Senegal, Mr. Mohammed Dionne.
