THE senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the senatorial election in Enugu East, Mr Christopher Ogbu, said yesterday that he was hopeful that the Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would guard against rigging in the February elections.

  He stated that the device gives assurance to opposition party candidates that their votes will be protected in the elections, explaining that he was offering himself for service to change the under-representation being suffered by his zone at the senate by the dominance of benchwarmers.
