PASTOR Olusola Adewumi of the Christ Apostolic Miracle Church, Ikole, Ekiti, on Friday said Valentine Day celebration was not meant to promote of promiscuity.

Adewumi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ikole that the day was instead marked to show love and gratitude to individuals.

He said people were expected to share love on valentine day through exchange of perfumes, cloths, flowers, cards and other gifts.

He enjoined parents and religious leaders to educate the youths on the true meaning of valentine.

“Churches and other religious organizations should educate members, especially adolescents on the true meaning of the day.

“They should also organize programmes to keep the youth busy during the day to stop them from attending clubs or other events capable of influencing them negatively.

He warned people who find pleasure in having extra marital sex during the celebration to desist, saying the wrath of God would be on those hiding under the celebration to commit sin.(NAN)
