A middle-aged woman, Miss Lucky Akuna, 38, who reportedly escaped yet another kidnap attempt, the third abduction in a year, has sent a Save Our Soul message to security agencies in the state.

The middle-aged women, who survived a third attempt to kidnap her in her residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, appealled to security agencies yesterday to come to her aid to forestall a recurrence of the incident.

It was gathered that gunmen suspected to be kidnappers stormed her residence in Yenizue-Gene, a suburb of the state capital, about 7 pm last weekend, apparently to abduct her again, but failed, as she was not at home.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen, numbering five, came in a black SUV jeep, shooting sporadically before raiding her apartment, but did not take away any valuables, fueling speculations that they came to abduct her again.

One of her brothers, who simply identified himself as James and lives within the suburb, told The Guardian that her sister, an indigene of Delta State, has earlier by abducted twice in the past and only released after ransoms were paid.He said the latest attempt was a big concern to the family and wondered why his sister has become a constant victim of insecurity in the state.

In a chat on phone from her hideout, Lucky said: “My life is at risk, I don’t know who is after my life, I don’t feel safe anymore here. I have been abducted twice and I have been advised to relocate, though I have lodge complaint at the Police station.”The state Police Command Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Mr. Asinim Butswats, could not be receded for comment, as he phone number was switched off.
