Nnenna Okereke dies at 76
ONE of Nigeria’s foremost educationist, Mrs. Nnenna Ngwanma Okereke has died. She was aged 76.
She graduated from University of Ibadan in 1964 and was one of Nigeria’s youngest principals of secondary school at the age of 26. She was the pioneer principal of Echie Girls’ Secondary School and Girls’ Secondary School, Isiokpo both in Rivers state.
She later taught at the Christ the Kings College (CKC), Awkunano Girls’ Secondary School and Uwani Girls’ Secondary School, all in Enugu State.
A service of songs will hold on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 5.00 p.m. at Events Hall, Providence Street, Lekki 1, Lagos while the funeral service and interment will be at her hometown in Amuvi Village, Aro-chukwu on Friday, May 28, 2015.
Her husband of 46 years marriage is Mazi Mike Okereke, a well-known international management and public relations consultant and past-president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and Board member, International Public Relations Association.
