The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has charged on patriotism, unity, and collective effort to build a virile nation.
The outgoing State Director of NOA in the state, Dr Olukemi Afolayan, made the call while presenting the National Flag to the Oyo State Government through the Director-General of Protocol, Otunba Samuel Badejo, as a token of appreciation for their support.
The symbolic presentation of the flag marked, which took place at the secretariat, Ibadan, marked the end of Afolayan’s tenure in the state.
The outgoing Director is being transferred to the national headquarters as the Director and Head of the Department of Civic, Values and Democracy Education of the agency.
While expressing her gratitude to the Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, for the new opportunity, Afolayan called on Nigerians to join hands in building a strong Nigeria.
She said: “I’m grateful to NOA Director-General Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu for this new opportunity. To Nigerians, I urge patriotism, unity, and collective effort to build our nation. We must take ownership of Nigeria’s progress and work together to build a strong country.”
She also called on the people of Oyo State to continue supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s strides in the state, saying the governor has taken commendable steps in giving a facelift to road infrastructure.
The outgoing Director lauded the efforts of Governor Makinde in taking the state to greater heights.
She, therefore, called on all and sundry in Oyo State to continue giving their support to the governor in order to do more for the state.
Afolayan also thanked her team, the people, and the government of Oyo State for their support during her tenure in the state.
“I appreciate my team’s diligence and patriotism, and together, we’ve contributed to national development and Oyo State’s growth. I’ve had the opportunity to visit all 33 local government areas, and I’m impressed by the state’s progress.
“My parting message to Oyo State residents is to continue being good citizens, supporting the government, particularly Governor Seyi Makinde’s initiatives. The state’s infrastructure, especially roads, is commendable.”
Responding, the Director-General of Protocol to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Samuel Badejo, lauded the tremendous efforts of the outgoing Director in mobilising the residents of the state for a good cause.
