Obasanjo to commission hospital, roads in Zamfara

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is expected in Zamfara State on Tuesday to commission a number of completed projects as part of the state government’s infrastructure drive.

According to a statement from the Government House, Obasanjo will officially inaugurate the newly renovated Yeriman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, the state capital.

The project, executed under the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal, is part of a broader effort to revitalise public health infrastructure in the state.

The statement, signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that the hospital has undergone a comprehensive renovation and has been outfitted with modern medical equipment.

In addition to the hospital project, the former president is also scheduled to commission several newly completed roads in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Gusau. These roadworks are said to form part of the current administration’s urban renewal initiative aimed at improving infrastructure and accessibility within the capital.

Governor Lawal is expected to host Obasanjo during the visit, which marks a significant milestone for the state’s ongoing development agenda.
