Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has paid the April salaries and pensions of workers and retirees across the state ahead of the Easter celebration.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, announced the early payment in a statement on Friday, describing it as part of Okpebholo’s efforts to ease financial pressure on citizens during the festive season.
According to the statement, the move reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners. Itua emphasized that the early disbursement aims to help families prepare adequately for Easter.
“This administration understands the significance of Easter. We want our workers and senior citizens to celebrate with dignity and without financial worries,” the statement read.
Itua also noted that Governor Okpebholo’s people-first approach to governance includes consistent fiscal discipline and transparency, which enables the state to meet its obligations despite national economic challenges.
The government reaffirmed its pledge to prioritize citizen welfare and implement policies that improve livelihoods across Edo State.
