The incident occurred on Friday along the Kafin Hausa–Auno, Sabon Gari Ruba Road around 2:20 p.m. The victims were reportedly returning from a farm when the motorcycle caught fire following the crash.

In a statement released on Saturday in Dutse, the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Badruddeen Tijjani, confirmed that six individuals were involved, five of whom suffered severe burns.

“The victims were identified as Iliya Ashura Makera, 15; Babanan Musa, 22; Mubarak Ibrahim Tahir, 14; Abdullmumuni Garba, 12; and Abdulsalam Garba, 14,” Tijjani stated.

He said NSCDC operatives from the Kafin Hausa Divisional Office, led by CSC Nehemiah John Gata, evacuated the victims to the General Hospital in Kafin Hausa. One of the victims, Abdullmumuni Garba, was later referred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital due to the extent of his injuries but died on the way.

Tijjani said the NSCDC is supporting the affected families and has begun an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
State NSCDC Commandant Bala Bodinga expressed condolences to the families of the victims. He also urged the public to promote safe road use practices.

“It is essential for parents, community leaders, and all stakeholders to educate young people on road safety and the risks associated with reckless behaviour,” Bodinga said.

He advised motorcyclists to comply with traffic regulations and avoid overloading.
