The Oyo State government, on Monday, stated its readiness to key into climate-friendly transport services.
Speaking, Chairman and Sole Administrator, Oyo State Transport Service, Dr. Ibrahim Salami Dikko, who said the agency has cleared backlogs of gratuities and pensions since 1994, noted that the agency has introduced digital payment services, Closed Circuit Camera and trackers, which have thus reduced corruption to the barest level.
The assurance was given during a special briefing held today at the Governor’s Briefing Room, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Dikko stated that the state has received an additional 10 CNG buses from the federal government, in addition to the earlier 20 CNG buses donated in September 2024, with readiness to launch a CNG conversion centre for a climate-friendly environment and to promote ease of transporting residents from within and outside the state, beyond 42,000 commuters daily.
Dikko said N2.1 billion has been spent so far on running the agency.
