Party adopts Jonathan as presidential candidate

MEGA Progressive People’s Party (MPPP) has adopted Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the March 28, 2015 presidential election.

MEGA Progressive People’s Party (MPPP) has adopted Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the March 28, 2015 presidential election.

During the presentation of MPPP’s manifesto to President Jonathan who was represented at the event by the officer in charge of contact and mobilization, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mrs. Oluremi Adiukwu-Bakare which held in Lagos, the National Chairman of MPPP, Oludare Falade disclosed that since the party has no presidential candidate, after extensive consultations decided to support the candidate who has a similar manifesto to its own.

“What we are doing here today by adopting President Goodluck Jonathan as the MPPP’s presidential candidate for the March 28, 2015 election is not alien to our democratic experience in Nigeria as similar political alliances have been tested before now and the process has helped to strengthen our democracy.

“We therefore call on the teaming supporters across all the 36 states and federal capital territory to cast their votes for the incumbent President on March 28, 2015.”

In her response, Adiukwu-Bakare said President Jonathan appreciates everybody in the party.

“You have seen that your manifesto is in line with that of PDP and your focus the same, hence you have adopted President Jonathan as the presidential candidate of your party,” she stated.
