Presidency mourns special assistant

The Presidency has announced the death of Tijani Yusuf, a Special Assistant on Special Duties to Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal Arabi, yesterday after a brief illness.

He was 63 and until his transition, he was a likeable and unassuming gentleman known for his excellent administrative skills, especially his roles during the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremonies of Federal Government’s top appointees.

In recognition of his service, Yusuf was awarded Member of the Order of Niger (MON) in 2006 and Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) in 2012 after receiving several commendation letters including one from the Archbishop of Canterbury.

A statement issued by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, noted that the late Yusuf will be sorely missed by management and staff of the State House.
