Protocol practitioners move to raise standards, partner U.K. firm
The Association of Certified Protocol Practitioners in Nigeria (ACPPN) is partnering Synergy Systems Consults United Kingdom (UK) Limited to raise the standards of the practice in Nigeria to meet international benchmarks.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to The Guardian, head of the delegation and President of ACPPN, Mrs. Patricia Kenneth-Divine, described the ACPPN as the power of vision to rebrand protocol practice, raise standards through professionalism, productivity and integrity and influence significant changes in the protocol industry.
Kenneth-Divine said that the association started four years ago during its search for a better concept in raising standards and giving protocol practice a real image.
The delegation noted that it initially faced the task of differentiating between a professional protocol person and the one who is just around the street in terms of visa delivery or just servicing high-profile individuals.
About 23 protocol officers met in London for trainings, after which they decided to rebrand protocol practice, adding that the association influenced businesses and was able to add value to service delivery and culture.
According to Kenneth-Divine, one of the key things that protocol officers enjoy is collaboration and networking with one another, she said, adding that protocol practice has diversified backgrounds.
With the support of the British Deputy High Commission, she said ACPPN targets improving the standards of protocol service and the class of service delivery. The vision would increase awareness, improve code of conduct practice and embrace the right regulations, certifications and interface with the right resource persons that will enhance professionalism and delivery, she said.
