Removal of HND/BSC dichotomy key to Promoting technical education – Ganduje

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Umar Abdulahi Ganduje, has appealed to the Federal Government to sincerely implement the removal of the preferential treatment between holders of Bachelor Degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) in the service. Ganduje made the call yesterday in Ado Ekiti during the 17th combined convocation ceremonies of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.

The Governor said the policy if effected remains the best way to promote technical education, which Polytehnics were purposely established to achieve.

“Today, Kano State has no such barrier in the civil service. Holders of HND and Bachelor Degrees are employed on the same cadre and can rise to the Pinnacle of their careers,” he said.

The Rector of the institution, Dr. Hephzibar Oladebeye, appealed to the graduates and honorees to help the institution in developing the Polytechnic and make it a force to be reckoned with globally.
