Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, says the party is growing in strength with over 800,000 members.
Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt at the weekend, the party’s spokesman, Luckyman Egila, expressed his delight with the increasing number of its members, which includes prominent politicians, two former governors and federal lawmakers in its ranks.
He described the Rivers State chapter of the ADC as the beautiful bride of the party, stating that ADC has been “receiving key politicians into its fold” ahead of the 2027 elections.
Egila added that former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has also joined the party.
“These persons have left their former parties, and they are now full members of the ADC.
“And you can only become a member of a party when you have registered with that party and been issued with a membership card. So all of them are now full members of the ADC.”
Egila also listed former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Okpara, and former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo, as members of ADC in Rivers State.
“The names I have mentioned are all key politicians in Rivers State, and of course, you can’t write these people off. They are all members of the ADC,” he stated.
