Rotary takes zero education project of Lagos State govt to Hausa communities

The Rotary Club of Agege has taken the Zero Education Project of the Lagos State government meant to empower the less privileged in the state to Olusanya and Papasango communities, populated mainly by people from the northern part of the country.

Speaking during the programme marking Basic Education and Literacy Community Advocacy Programme of Rotary Club of Agege, the head of the counselling unit of Agege Local Government Education Authority, Adegbose Adekunle Abraham, who represented the Education Secretary of the Authority, Mrs. Ogunyomi Catherine Motunrayo, said the programme was done in partnership with the club to sensitise the people about the education of their children.

“The programme was successful. You can see that the turnout of the parents was huge. The parents have been informed that there is something we called Zero Project by the Lagos State government to help them basically on everything about their children’s education.

“We give them free school uniforms, free books, free socks, shoes, everything just to encourage them to go to school and that is why it is totally free by the Lagos State government.
