Shun Kaduna music festival, Sani urges Buhari

SHEHU-SANISENATOR Shehu Sani, (APC, Kaduna Central) Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stay away from the proposed Kaduna Music Festival, to which he had been invited by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Sani said organising a music festival at a time people of the state were experiencing serious economic crisis and poverty amounted an irresponsibility on the part of government.

Sani said: “Nigerians will not believe or accept excuses of economic challenges when their elected government has reserved money to frolic with .It is heartless and inhuman for any government to support or sponsor a wild party in times of distress, deprivation , drudgery and austerity.
of asperity.

I call on President Buhari to reject the invitation to attend the charade called Kaduna Music festival.
Every drum beat , every song at the festival amounts a mockery to the victims of the bloody insurgency in northern Nigeria.

It’s a contradiction and morally reprehensible that the same Kaduna state Government that declared that it will no longer finance pilgrimage to Saudi and Jerusalem and refuses to sponsor Ramadan feeding for the poor and Tafsir now has enough money to sponsor and host a musical jamboree.”‎
