
Over 1000 primary and secondary school students in three schools in the riverine areas of Delta state received free school bags, note books, mathematical sets and other writing materials in the ‘Street to School’ programme of the Earnest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF).
The Street to School project which was initiated in 2020 aims to ensure that no kids of school age are in the streets, hence the street to school tag.
The foundation on Thursday visited three Schools namely Sokebolou Secondary School, Sokebolou Primary School and Yokiri Primary School all in Sokebolou community of Ogulagha kingdom, in the phase two of the project, where they donated learning items to over 1000 pupils and students.
The phase two of the 2023 EBF Street to School outreach was sponsored by Sir Godfrey Pondi, president and founder of Godfrey Pondi Book Club.
Earlier in the year, the foundation flagged off the Phase one of the annual educational support outreach to schools.
Speaking during the visit to the schools, the president and founder of the EBF, Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo, said “the yearly educational outreach to schools is motivated by the need to ensure that the kids in the creeks are supported with school kits and learning materials, so they can attend school without any hindrance”.
The Principal of Sokebolou Secondary School, Mr. Efeludu Samson Evughe, Head Teacher of Yokiri Primary School, Mr. Engi Study, Head Teacher of Fikesei Primary School, Mr. Brakora Gha Amos, and other teaching staff of the school while welcoming the EBF team expressed immense appreciation for the donation of school bags, note books, mathematical sets and other kits
Chairman of the community Mr Believe royal Atumu appreciated the dedication of the EBF team and thanked them for the items donated to the schools, he also extolled the good virtues of Sir Godfrey Pondi, for sponsoring the educational outreach to the creek schools in Delta state.
