Tinubu hails Interface Africa’s £1.5m NextGen Innovation Challenge win

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Al’amin Muhammed Idris, Chief Executive Officer of Interface Africa, on the company’s victory at the NextGen Innovation Challenge.

Interface Africa, representing Kaduna State, emerged the winner at the grand finale held on Thursday at the Hilton London Paddington, receiving a cash prize of £1.5 million.

The NextGen Innovation Challenge is a national initiative spearheaded by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) in partnership with UKALD London.

Inspired by President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the programme aims to unlock the innovative potential of Nigerian youths.

The President commended Interface Africa for its efforts in providing affordable solar financing to small businesses across Africa, noting that the prize money would boost the company’s mission to expand access to clean energy in underserved communities.

Tinubu reaffirmed his belief in the boundless innovative capacity of Nigerian youths, highlighting his administration’s deliberate policies and programmes to harness and catalyse this potential.

He also lauded the other 104 participants for their creativity and resilience, urging them to continue innovating, improving lives, and shaping the future of humanity.
