Tinubu lauds peaceful relocation of FCT communities

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his delight over the peaceful relocation and compensation of communities along the road corridor to facilitate the execution of road projects undertaken by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Addressing the traditional heads of different communities on Wednesday, President Tinubu applauded the traditional leaders for their cooperation to ensure the Minister carries out the federal government’s infrastructural development plans without displacing the indigenous people.

President Tinubu hinted that his administration is investing in roads, rail, power, healthcare, education and digital infrastructure, stressing that it is only through this coordinated and integrated development that he can unlock Nigeria’s full potential.

“They told me how cooperative you were, and you collaborated with the FCT minister, and, respectively, you have been relocated. Not that we grabbed the land.,
“Like any government, we want development. But how well we organise and execute them depends on us. Of course, we are here because of the trust you have in us. Thank you very much for your cooperation,” he said.

He promised that all ongoing projects would be completed before the third anniversary of the administration, as companies and contractors compete among themselves to be part of the project, assuring that no contract awarded under the FCT will be abandoned.

The President also showered encomium on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for championing the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that people enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“And we thank the Minister of FCT too, for relocating your community with peace and good compensation.”, Wike said the President’s infrastructure drive had instilled confidence in contractors handling projects across the FCT.

“By the time you do your third year in office next year, you will see that virtually all the contracts you have awarded under you as the President, as the Chairman of the Federal Executive Council, we will have finished them to the glory of God, ” he said.
