President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, congratulated the elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti, on his 99th birthday.

Tinubu conveyed his felicitation in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement, titled “President Bola Tinubu’s tribute to Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti at 99,” read in part: “Today, I rejoice with the family, political associates, and friends of our dear father, leader and patriarch, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, as we celebrate his remarkable journey of 99 years on earth.

“Baba has enjoyed extraordinary grace from God in attaining this age. Even though he appears frail due to old age, his mind remains active and sharp.

“He is undoubtedly one of the rare Nigerians who gave all to public service and served unblemished at every opportunity.

“Baba’s career as a teacher, principal, and educationist reflects his commitment to public service and community development.”

IN the same vein, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has felicitated the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Reuben Fasoranti, on his 99th birthday.

Makinde, who lauded Fasoranti for his contributions to the emancipation of the Yoruba ethnic group and the progress of Nigeria, prayed to God to grant his age-long desires on the Yoruba nation and Nigeria as a whole.

This felicitation was contained in a statement by Media Adviser to the Governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

ALSO, the Leader of the Senate, Opeyemi Bamidele, has celebrated Fasoranti on his attainment of 99 years on earth, thanking God for blessing him with a full ripe age and unfading memory.

In a statement by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs, yesterday, Bamidele congratulated Fasoranti on this occasion, reflecting on his dedication to public education, resolute political activism, resilience in the face of adversity and the pursuit of Yoruba interest.

He said: “On behalf of all senators from Yoruba-speaking states, we celebrate the patriarch of Yorubaland, a true Omoluabi and an embodiment of humility, Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, as we celebrate his remarkable attainment of 99 years on the land of the living.”
