Tinubu to commission selected projects in Katsina

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to arrive in Katsina State on a two-day visit and is expected to commission some selected projects executed by the Governor Dikko Radda-led administration.

Governor Radda made this known late Sunday evening during the distribution of cash and empowerment packages to constituents by House of Representatives member, Hon. Sani Danlami (APC, Katsina).

The governor, who didn’t give the exact date when the president would arrive in the state, however, hinted that the visit will be very soon and that the president would be sleeping over.

The scheduled visit to the state would be the first for the president since he assumed office as the nation’s Number One citizen on May 29, 2023.

The last time he was in the state was on Sunday, July 10, 2022, when he announced Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate after meeting with former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura.

Governor Radda said the august visit would not only be a memorable one for the state but would serve as an opportunity to showcase what the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration is doing for the people.

He, therefore, called on stakeholders and residents of the state to come out en masse on the visit day to welcome the president to the Home of Hospitality.

On his part, Hon. Danlami commended the Radda-led administration for the execution of people-oriented projects and for efforts at tackling the problem of insecurity in parts of the state.

He said the security situation had greatly improved since the governor assumed office in 2023, adding that between 70 to 80 percent of the challenge has been tackled under the governor’s watch.

He assured that he and the rest of the National Assembly (NASS) members would work closely with the state government to address the security situation and to better the lot of people in the state.

The cash and empowerment package distribution, which held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, saw items that include cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, irrigation machines, among others, distributed to beneficiaries.

More than N518 million worth of empowerment packages and cash were distributed to constituents during the event.
